You came as Kia’s dear friend, visiting during Covid, and like any good host, I fixed you a plate of food—only to learn very quickly that you eat slow. And I do mean slow. Somewhere between the first bite and the last, you noticed a framed photo on the wall, surrounded by the signatures of the people I love, with the words “Love is spoken here” at its center.

You asked to sign it.
You added your name that day.
And you have honored that commitment ever since.

From that first Sunday dinner, you were no longer just Kia’s friend. You became a dear friend to all of us—a steady, intentional presence whose word means something and whose love is felt.
