Building something from nothing takes more than a good idea. It takes people who show up before you ask them to. Boomer has been one of those people for me, and this season of building BeeSeatedHere has made that clearer than ever.

I met him through Jay, but the truth is, Boomer belongs to everybody. He's everyone's big brother. And somewhere in the middle of turning a dinner table into a brand, he became mine too — the kind of steady I didn't know I needed until I had it.

The Kind of Support You Don't Have to Ask For

Starting something new means a hundred small moments of doubt — is this good enough, is anyone going to show up, am I doing this right. Boomer has never let me sit in those moments alone. He'll support you when you're full of doubt, and he'll be honest with you when your idea is terrible. Both, because he loves you.

What makes it real is that his support has never lived in one lane. He's shown up mentally, talking me through decisions when my own head was too loud to trust. Physically, present for the work itself. Emotionally, steady on the days the doubt got loud. And financially, believing in this enough to put something behind it. That's the difference between someone cheering you on and someone actually helping you build. Boomer has always been the second kind.

He Knows the City I'm Building For

Don't get Boomer started on Atlanta. Not just Atlanta — Old Atlanta. There's a difference, and he'll gladly explain it. He carries a real love for the city's culture, its people, and everything Atlanta was before everybody decided they wanted to move here. He's the person you call when you need to know where to actually eat — not the trendy spot everyone just discovered online, but the place that's genuinely good.

That instinct — for what's real over what's trending — is exactly what BeeSeatedHere is trying to be. Food has always been how our crew connects, and Boomer understands that a good meal was never just about the food. It's about where you were, who was next to you, and whether it was good enough to make you come back. That's the whole thesis of this brand. He was living it long before I turned it into one.

Park Close, Head on a Swivel

Before I even had a business, I had Boomer looking out for me in the city I was still learning. Before we got out of the car for a night out, he'd already given the instructions: “Brandii, park close, keep your head on a swivel, and stay together.”

That's the same energy he's brought to this season — always thinking a few steps ahead so I don't have to think about everything at once. Some people give you confidence by cheering you on. Boomer gives it to you by making sure the ground under you is solid.

He Absorbs Your People Into His Own

A hospitality brand is only as strong as the community behind it, and Boomer has never just tolerated my circle — he's absorbed it. He and Kia are on their own journey together, showing up for each other one habit at a time. And Nikki — Boomer adores her, street sense and all. Protecting family is their shared gift. One call away, always.

That's the kind of network you need when you're building something new: people who don't just support you, but support each other, so the whole circle gets stronger together.

One Flight Away

Life has taken us in different directions, but distance has never changed the relationship. Boomer has always felt one flight away. You don't need constant proximity to know where you stand with someone. The love is still there. The protection is still there. The laughter is still there. Big brother is still big brother — especially in the seasons when you're building something and need to know someone's got your back regardless of the time zone.

BeeSeatedHere is my way of honoring the people who've added something real to my life. This season, more than most, has shown me what it means to be genuinely supported while building — not just cheered from a distance, but invested in, checked on, protected, and told the truth.
